At the end of last year, I designed several in-store pieces, such as a poster, shelf dangler, door cling, counter card, and shipper display. The typography treatment was inspired from the look of those old hand painted soda crates. The “farmer’s market” approach just made sense with the slow roasted characteristics of the Planters Flavor Grove product.
Above is an icon I have designed to visually represent what is going on with my face. At 8 weeks of growth (from clean shaven), the picture was taken and edited by my good friend, Will Riggs. See the picture below :{)
Here is a logo I have been working on for the infamous Pinewood Derby League Grand Prix of 1974 that was held in Texas. If I had only sanded my car a touch more, I could have won.
As most of you know, my son Carter is turning 1 next month. Since my very first post on this blog, which was Carter’s logo, I haven’t gotten much sleep. He is such blessing though! Here is the invitation I have designed for his party.
Alright, let’s get back to it. MUSTHATCH is a poster idea that I thought of last night when I was getting ready for bed. Many of my ideas come at the most random times. For some reason, I was repeating the word “mustache” and trying to come up with some type of play on words. Not sure why, but I thought “mustache” sounded similar to “must hatch”. So here is yet another mustache inspired creation. I am still trying to decide if this mustache obsession is healthy. Who am I kidding, of course it is! Enjoy the stache, this time with breakfast.
Well, here is the latest mustache poster. It is pretty straight forward. Which mustache catches your attention? Exactly. More to come on this way of thinking.
The Pirahna Bar is a trendy, downtown bar where you are more likely to be served a martini than a Miller Lite. With an edgy name like Pirahna Bar, I thought the mark needed to be simple, but not too clean. To give it the edgy look I was going for, I took my illustration, added a rough texture, and married it with a bold, sans-serif, all caps font. Did anyone see the olive right off? Does anyone recognize that font? If so, leave a comment with your answer below.
